The Cook Islands

The Cook Islands are one of the Pacific's most popular holiday destinations.

Located 4,500 km south of Hawaii, we welcome eager visitors from all over the globe to relax and rejuvenate in our warm and inviting climate. The Cook Islands is made up of 15 distinct islands spread over 11,000 square kilometres of deep, blue Pacific Ocean.  Aitutaki is our best kept secret, a gleaming, natural wonder with the world's most sensational lagoon at its centre.

Aitutaki is a part of what we call the Southern group of islands.  This group includes Rarotonga, the capital of the Cook Islands and offers an amazing variety of activities, leisure pursuits and relaxation in an unspoilt natural environment.

The Northern group of islands is further away, but no less fascinating.  Close to French Polynesia (just one hour's flight to Tahiti in some cases), the Northern group of islands represents the timeless, wild beauty of our nation.  Somewhat isolated and completely untouched by commercial tourism, these stunning islands are completely off the beaten track.
